Recipe: Grandma’s Peanut Butter Scotchies

My grandmother made this special treat every Christmas. She always set some aside for me because she knew they were my favorite! Grandma’s Peanut Butter Scotchies are now a Christmas tradition in my family. You will love these – I promise!

Warning: These are addictive. Try not to eat all of them in one day.

Recipe: Grandma’s Peanut Butter Scotchies

Recipe: Grandma’s Peanut Butter Scotchies


  • 6 c Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 c creamy peanut butter
  • 12 oz pkg butterscotch chips


  1. Add cereal to a large mixing bowl; set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, add peanut butter and stir for 30 seconds. Add butterscotch chips and stir constantly until chips have melted.
  3. Pour butterscotch mixture over cereal and gently stir with wooden spoon until combined. Let cool for a few minutes then drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Cool until set and enjoy!

You may also make these into Rice Krispie treats by adding to a 9×13 buttered dish.
